I Wish I Was a Poet
I wish I was a poet
so I could tell you how I feel,
whisper softly in your ear
that you’re sweeter than wine,
softer than down,
more beautiful than the morning sun
I’d tell you how magical it is
being one with you,
being on the same plane
at the same moment of time
in the universe,
in all the billions of stars
and trillions of years
just you and I, becoming one
in our own moments of time
If I were a poet
I’d know how to explain
how you take me to paradise;
how I was drawn to you
like entering shelter
in a violent thunderstorm
and that I've never looked at anybody
and had my heart melt
the way it does when I look at you
I don't need to measure
my Love for you …
I know it when my cup is full
I can't imagine not Loving you;
I can't not Love you
And if I were a poet
I’d know how
to tell you so
