Why Do I Love You?

You ask me why I Love you,
you do not know your qualities.
No, it's not just that the sight of you
makes me quiver at the knees.

And it's not that when you look at me
your eyes just make me melt,
nor is it that one touch from you,
holds more warmth than ever I have felt.

It isn't that your sense of humour
can always make me laugh,
and it isn't that my soul
feels like you're its other half

The fact that when I hear your voice,
I smile from ear to ear,
is quite simply not enough
to make me love you, Dear.

Though everything I've mentioned
is definitely true,
they are simply not the reasons
that I say "I Love You"

I Love you because you give me
more than gifts for me to hold,
you give me the faith to be myself,
if the truth can e'er be told.

You give me confidence and courage
to try things I never would,
and you help me face life's battles
that without you I never could

When you tell me I am beautiful
and I say that's not the case,
you say you see an inner beauty,
whenever you look at my face;

you understand me and accept me
for the person that I am,
one of whom I can be proud,
not just an extension of a man.

I Love you because I can be me,
whenever I'm with you,
the reason that I Love you Darlin
is just because you are you.
