When

When will the sun no longer set between us,
The wind not have to carry thoughts from me to you;
Stars not have to shine for twice as many skies,
Light the path between our hearts with tender hues?

The miles that stretch the heartstrings lay like ribbons;
Night blends into day beneath a cloudless sky
And setting sun begins to paint your love upon
The horizon, spreading magic ‘fore my eyes.

Moon beams then pour out and change the gold to silver,
Kisses that you send me, gently floating with
The breeze, belie how far they come across the
Sky to touch my heart — oh tell me when will

I waken to your breath upon my skin,
Feel your fingers on my face replace the breeze;
Your lips on mine instead of moonbeam kisses?
Love, I know not when, but we’ll make memories,

Gently you will wrap me in your arms, as we
Touch beneath the sky that now divides us.
My eyes will see your smile, my lips will taste your kiss,
Heart to heart we’ll lay one day, in that I trust.
