Think Twice

Seems so long ago
There was no reason to believe
This empty space inside
Would ever go away;
No reason to think twice

I was just an ordinary girl
In an ordinary life
In a world full of people,
I wasn’t wasting my time
Waiting in line
Just to wish upon a star

But I could always pretend
That living a lie
Was enough to get me by,
That I could write the hurt away
Then toss it, like confetti,
Into the wind;
Paint my dreams on the horizon;
Forget that girl on the rooftop
With her face to the sky,
She’ll never learn to fly

Just an ordinary girl
In an ordinary life
In a world full of people,
I wasn’t wasting my time
Chasing life
Like tequila and lime

Think …

Slip into that old pair of shoes
And remember
Dancing in the moonlight
With the transistor radio on
Singing that’s why I Love you —
Don’t be afraid to let yourself show,
Don’t lose sight of it all

Think twice …

I can feel it coming,
There’s a fire burning
And it’s casting a light in the air tonight —
An ordinary man
Holding my heart in his hand
Letting my true colours shine through
Like a rainbow

It’s another day
In a world full of people,
And I’m still not wasting my time
Wishing on a star

But I wish …

Yeah I’m wishing
On life
And it’s a chance I’ve gotta take
And I’m never letting go
