Strawberry Fields

There’s a long line
Stretching into the distance,
Crystals strung above it
In the ink black sky
Where I play connect the dots
Tracing zigzags with my finger,
Facing south.

Some day you’ll see them
As vibrant as I do,
Unhindered
By earthly globes that never sleep
And they will pulse
With the beat of my heart
In a silence filled with nightsound

Reach into the ether
And feel my breath upon your hand —
A hand that’s planted memories
In fertile earth —
And when my kiss has trickled
To your lips, drift into sleep
With a ring around the moon,
Waiting for strawberries
To bring fruit
