Seger Nights

          Sometimes it’s you,
          face against the wind,
          claiming little victories
          in the aftermath, lookin’ back;
          sometimes it’s me,
          walking the tightrope
          to no man’s land
          on a black night. 

          No matter which way, 
          it’s still the same;
          the wind still blows
          and tomorrow still looms
          when you turn the page
          and you feel like a number
          sailing nights
          on a ship of fools.

          But somewhere tonight
          you wait for me
          by the river west of the moon
          with all your love,
          and when the night moves,
          it feels like 
          comin’ home
