Real Live Love

Whispers travel on the wind
In poetic hush,
Syllables woven into heart-spills
Shared in the absence
Of a touch;
A soft glow in a darkened room
Replaces a tender smile
And illuminates the longing
Shared across the miles

She smiles, she cries,
She feels the ache within her heart
This isn’t just make-believe
This is a real live love!

Stars twinkle in silence,
Words dance across the night,
Letter by letter, verse by verse,
Speaking hidden thoughts
Between the lines;
A voice in the distance
Instead of a finger’s brush
Echoes in the key of desire
Shared across the miles

He laughs, he frowns,
He longs to feel her in his arms
This isn’t just make-believe
This is a real live love!

A box of treasures
Filled with the contents of his heart
Every thread collected
Through the years
Stitched into a tapestry
Of time;
Wishes painted on kisses
Left when the moons align
Holding breath
Until the next time

For this isn’t just make-believe
This is a real live love!
