Elemental  Physics

Wavelength is equal to
the speed of sound divided by frequency.
If you whisper I Love you a thousand times
and tie your words 
to the tail of an autumn wind
just as the sun begins to set
will I be wrapped in the waves
of your Love by sundown? 

Speed of sound is directly proportional 
to stiffness divided by density
which can be demonstrated
by the slide of a hand,
decreasing the stiffness
by exactly the amount of density
resulting in a quickening
of breath.

Power is directly proportional to intensity,
and this I know because
I have felt both intense desire 
and a powerful longing, equally, 
at the mere thought of you
and since both power and intensity
are relative to amplitude squared,
it is easy to see why
neither the desire nor the longing
can rival the depth of the Love
I have for you

And an  increase in amplitude 
by a factor of two
is represented by six decibels
therefore every day I Love you
six decibels more
than the day before.
