My Gift To You
I've often wondered what gift there could be
that would show you how much you mean to me,
so I searched the far reaches of my mind
but an answer to this I could not find.

The wealth of the world is measured in gold;
nothing's more precious than diamonds we're told,
and paintings by all the artists of yore
are priced at millions of dollars or more.

But your friendship is worth much more to me
than all of those things together would be
and if a value were put on your love
it would be a price to be in awe of.

So much would it cost, that I'd have to say,
not even the wealthiest man could pay.
If that be so how could I afford
any gift to show how much you're adored?

What I can give may seem meagre and small,
though perhaps it is priceless afterall?
It may not cost money, but you will see
I'll give you the same as you've given me.

For all of the things I value 'bout you
are right here within me as well, it's true.
When it comes to friendship, I'll do my part
and I'll give you all the love in my heart.
