Morning Sighs
Early morning
and sunlight slowly slides
along the curve of my lips
tracing memories of kisses
that have yet to know the taste
of daybreak on my tongue.
A breath of drifting moonlight
lingers in the flutter of an eye
and brushes tender
over lashes deep in dreams
to paint a sigh across my face
with whispered words
The air is filled
with the gentle scent of hush
that leaves a tingle on my skin
as dawn slowly glides
with soft caresses
that warm my aching heart
and wrap me in the soft embrace
of sighs that greet my morning
every day that I awake
without your touch.
