Just My Way

Winter blows cold outside my window
the frost stayed on the trees all day long,
they looked like lace and crystals,
I was afraid to breathe in case they'd break
and deep inside me I still feel the chill
that I've been fighting since dawn
but I know
it's more than just the weather
I know
it's my way
of missing you.

The lights are dim,
the moon is just a sliver in the sky
I listen to that woman sing her songs,
think about what might have been
and what never will,
and I smile to myself because
I know
you'd laugh at me for saying never
but I know
it's just my way
of missing you

Night wraps its cloak around me
and slides its hand across my eyes
but I avoid my pillow just a little bit longer
holding on to one last thought … or two … of you
and even though flowers must die
they still remind me of you
but you know
its 'cause I've got this thing for you
you know
it's just my way
of missing
you
