January Wind
Fate hangs my dreams
Before my eyes
On fragile threads that glisten
In the noon-day sun
Tantalizingly close,
While not yet within reach
Playing Catch-Me-if-You-Can
With the best laid promises
My future hangs in the balance,
Wrapped up in the beat
Of one man's heart,
Held in the palm of another's;
Tied to the tail of a January wind,
As erratic as the weather,
Obsessions become passions
Woven into the clockworks
With Camellias and Plum blossoms,
Threatening to unravel with the sunset
Leaving Carnation petals
Floating on the wake.
Will destiny drift above the clouds
On the promise of sunshine,
Or find me catching snowflakes
On my tongue?
Only time will tell.
