If I Could

If I had wings then I would fly
across waves of the rolling oceans,
through clouds that billow in the sky
If I had wings then I would fly
with the swallows or butterflies,
duplicate their graceful motions.
If I had wings then I would fly
across waves of the rolling oceans.

If I could sing like chickadees
soft melodies to touch the soul.
I’d soothe you with sweet harmony
If I could sing like chickadees.
I’d sing to set your troubles free
to touch your heart and make it whole,
If I could sing like chickadees
soft melodies to touch the soul

If my brush could dip into the sky,
paint with colours of the setting sun
I’d hope my paint would ne’er run dry
If my brush could dip into the sky.
I’d paint a heartscape for all eyes,
delights to pleasure everyone,
If my brush could dip into the sky,
paint with colours of the setting sun

If breath could drift across the land
and turn to diamonds as it froze
I’d breathe a kiss across my hand
If breath could drift across the land.
I’d bravely send my love so grand
and watch it glitter as it flows,
If breath could drift across the land
and turn to diamonds as it froze.
