Dream Walker

Walk with me in slumber
beneath the pearly moon
and stars that wink
to a silent lover's tune;
stay by my side
from the caress of evening dew
until the tender glimmer of
morning mist

Arm in arm we'll amble
through my dreams
past lakes of midnight silver
and softly singing streams;
we'll cast our love upon the wind
and feel it kiss us back again
in gently falling rain
on upturned lips.

I'll take your hand
as still we wander
beneath a canopy of trees
with outstretched arms that sway
in time to soothing rhythms played
by the beating of
our hearts.

Step into my dreams each night
and we'll digress a while
from all the troubles of the day
and simply lie beneath the sighs that float
like butterflies before our eyes,
then kiss me softly
as the day breaks
before you drift away,
but promise this —

When night falls will you walk
inside my dreams with me
again?
