Dream Lover

Some day I’ll wake up
in the circle of your arms,
those arms that hold me
each and every day.

Every day I feel your fingers
laying tingles as they travel
gently brushing my neck
'til they curl ‘round my shoulders
and draw me in to your embrace.

Every day I taste the sweetness
of your lips as they linger
softly kissing , leaving longing
like a fire on my skin
fanned by your breath.

Every day I feel your passion
as we lay with bodies intertwined
and hear the whispered sighs
as we make love beneath
the sun and moon and stars.

The only difference
between some day and every day
is some day you’ll still be here
when I open my eyes.
