Cupped Hands

Walk with me
through the mist along the shore,
where cat tails wave to greet us
and the water plays a song
so sweet and pure.

Take my hand and feel the power
of two souls melted into one
as if by lightning, struck,
at the whisper of three words
 painted in the ink of
forever.

Let the rain pour down
and wash away the rust;
taste the raindrops' sweet elixir
on my lips,
and trace a ring around my heart
as a reminder
of the warmth that's in
the circle
of your arms.

And when the sun breaks bread
with evening
on the near side of the moon,
catch my breath
and hold it
cupped within your hands
and slowly sip the nectar
of my Love.
