Close Our Eyes

Talk to me in my sleep again
like you did last night,
wrap your arms
around me in my dreams.

Whisper all the things we didn’t say today;
trace your finger on the smile
you give my lips,
let me drift in dreamland
to the music of your voice
as I rest within the warmth
of your embrace.

Talk to me in my sleep again
like you do each night
let your words
fall like kisses on my face.

Speak softly to me in the moonlight hours
caress me with the beating
of your heart
wash away my worries
with your breath against my ear,
all we have to do is close our eyes
to feel each other near.
