Bubble Bath

Sinking beneath a cloud
of iridescent bubbles,
the warmth of the water
wrapping around my body,
I slide lower, and lower,
until a chorus of tiny snaps and cracklings
is licking at my ears,

And there I lay
immersed in a warmth
I’ve only ever felt
one other place before,
and as the bubbles slowly melt away
across the softness of my breasts
I find myself thinking of you.

I wonder why?
