Columbia's Rain

February dawned a blackened morning
as the world turned faces t’wards the heavens.
Those waiting for joyous reuniting
too soon would mourn their courageous seven.

The skies ripped open with foreboding doom,
from below we watched catastrophe’s birth.
A nation was left picking up the pieces
when Columbia rained down on the earth.
