Not as it Seems

They sit side by side on this bus of life
Each one playing the dedicated wife.
One’s make-up is perfect, her hair just right;
Catching the eyes of every man in sight.

Her smile could send darkness from any room,
While the other one sits immersed in gloom
With Sally Ann clothes and hair all a mess;
It’s obvious which one has life the best. 

But the first gets home to an empty house
And she’s glad of that — her husband’s a louse,
While the second walks into loving arms
That would break if she ever met with harm.

You see, power and wealth can buy success 
But true love is what leads to happiness.
