(This is a poetic form called a Retourne)
Thunder rumbles in the distance
Purple haze fills the eastern sky
And wind swept trees bend fore and nigh
While birds fly frantic t’ward the west.
Purple haze fills the eastern sky
Dust churns up in a thickened cloak
Parched air sucked up into the clouds
Soon spirals down to hit the ground
And wind swept trees bend fore and nigh
Like spring toys battered by a cat
Bounced around like bits of dry grass
Are snapped in two like tinder sticks
While birds fly frantic t’ward the west
The panicked creatures of the land
Search out safe refuge from the storm
As the hurricane rages on.
