“Look Polly, I think it’s a hare,”
said Brutus as he started to yawn.
“hopping around and around
over there ‘cross the lawn?”
“D’ya suppose we should chase it?”
Polly asked him back,
giving her ear a bit of a flip,
“Or should we cut him some slack?”
Brutus finished his yawn,
and then twitched his nose,
lifted each eyebrow
and wiggled his toes.
Polly tilted her head
and heaved a deep sigh,
and watched the ol’ rabbit
hopping on by.
“I think it’s too scrawny
to make a good stew.
I think we should leave it,
what about you?”
“I think that you’re right.”
Brutus said with a snort.
“Why should we waste
all our energy for it.”
