The Yuletide fast approaching
she lays in winter slumber
while thoughts of Christmas past
tiptoe through her dreams.

Children sweetly caroling
in the lamplight’s glow,
while in the distance, sleigh bells
echo through the crisp night air.

Skaters twirl on frozen ponds
on a clear and starry night
and sculptors mould their snowballs
into a stoutly friend.

Their laughter rings out clearly 
through the snowy fields
while thoughts begin to wander to 
a feast of Christmas goose.
