She tiptoed through the forest
underneath the summer moon
where faeries dance by fir’fly light
to a soft and winsome tune.
They gathered in a circle,
held their lights up high,
and danced around her feet
beneath the darkened sky.
They laid a wreath of baby’s breath
upon her auburn curls
that glittered in their tiny lights
like a string of pearls.
What quest, they asked, had led her
under maple, birch and elm,
to search for them in secret
in their enchanted realm.
Please, bring to me a lover
who’s heart is pure as gold
bring to me a friend
who’ll be true til we grow old.
They said, we cannot grant your wish
nor cast spells to bring you love,
for it does not fall like faerie dust
from somewhere up above.
The magic lives within your heart,
listen closely to its song
search within and you will find
it’s been there all along.
Be what you are seeking
and we promise, you’ll discover
that when you least expect it
you’ll find your perfect lover.
