Within a Dream I had a dream in which I dreamt that I was dreaming, and I cut my hair long, wrapped the curls in satin like a coffin, and handed them to my children like precious heirlooms, as if they held the answers to all the mysteries of my life And when I awoke I didn’t know if I was waking from my dream or from the dream within my dream and I spoke of a red brick house with windows toward every horizon shuttered to every corner of my soul and yet I knew the south wall faced only you Then again I awoke, and looked at life through the hole in my left eye and through the blur, everything suddenly became clear march 2011 Janet Reid
