Destiny

I danced the dance of fate,
silhouette
in the sky of gray
where songs of ages sail the winds,
standing
just beyond his last breath
suspended above summer seas 
that swirled into dreams
reflected from my spirit,
beckoning the coming waves
while the night sky echoed 
mem'ries of 
a thousand years or more
in timeless wonder

And the promise of rain
whispering in the breeze
joined freely to my own
until that night when the heavens opened 
and a strand of heart 
fell at his feet
weaving our destiny
to become one
